Liverpool FC opens new fulfilment centre in the Netherlands
Liverpool FC (LFC) has opened a state-of-the-art international retail fulfilment centre in Roermond, the Netherlands. It houses the entire collection of official LFC merchandise, including the new ’24-’25 home shirt. The new fulfilment centre will enable the club to deliver fan orders faster, cheaper and more efficiently from now on.
In consultation with UPS, the club’s official logistics partner, Roermond was chosen as the location for the new state-of-the-art fulfilment centre. LFC currently ships to 180 different countries and has 16 club shops to supply fans around the world with merchandise. UPS’s global integrated network strengthens LFC’s retail and e-commerce activities.
Streamlining logistics
‘By leveraging our advanced automated warehouse and transportation capabilities, powered by sustainability-oriented solutions, we not only streamline logistics but also foster team spirit and dedication both on and off the field,’ said Susanne Klingler-Werner, president of UPS Supply Chain Solutions Europe.
Incidentally, the club’s current distribution centre (DC) in the Merseyside district of northwest England will also remain open and running at full capacity to process orders and deliver LFC merchandise to UK fans. The DC will be fitted with new technological systems. Additional staff training will also be provided.
International growth
‘We have ambitious plans for international growth. The opening of this new, state-of-the-art building in the Netherlands is central to this strategy and will help us with the growing demand from international markets to complement our existing distribution centre in Merseyside,’ said Mike Cox, Senior Vice President of Merchandising at Liverpool FC.
