IFM provides pragmatic S&OP solution for SAP users

Many large companies use SAP ERP software to support their business processes. SAP service provider GIB, which recently rebranded as IFM, has built an add-on especially for these companies. During Supply Chain Media’s S&OP Selection Day, Erwin Clerx explained how GIB SCX supports their supply chain and S&OP processes.

In his presentation about GIB SCX for SAP S/4HANA, Clerx stated: “It may not be a fully developed platform like specialized S&OP vendors offer, but you can be sure that our solution gives you all the necessary building blocks for effective S&OP. Moreover, it’s based on the ERP software that is already running at many companies. So if you work with SAP, this is by far the most pragmatic S&OP solution.”

Extensive KPI platform

During his presentation, he reviewed a number of supply chain planning functionalities that GIB SCX has added or further developed in SAP S/4HANA. “Forecasting and ABC/XYZ analysis have been in it for a long time, but we have now also built an extensive KPI platform. This shows at a glance how your company is doing in terms of supply chain planning. We have also developed role-based screens so that buyers, for example, see only the problems that are relevant to them, and how they can solve them.”

But the solution’s true strength, according to Clerx, lies in its hierarchical structure and the ability to ‘slice & dice’ through SAP data at all sorts of levels. “To be able to make inventory decisions, you must be able to zoom in and zoom out for all kinds of data – such as demand patterns for specific customer groups or products – and segment, analyse and simulate it. And our solution supports that extremely well.”
