Mitsubishi makes supply chain interoperable

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Motors Europe (MME) has implemented Vinturas’ interoperable network solution for the launches of the New Generation ASX and the completely redesigned Colt. The integration of this supply chain technology further streamlines logistics through data exchange. It also improves distribution capabilities within the European supply chain for finished vehicles.

Creating a data-driven end-to-end supply chain for the finished vehicle sector is now easily achievable, according to software vendor Vinturas, and it will also lead to significant cost efficiencies and savings. At MME, Vinturas created process and workflow automation, and also solved network interoperability between the various IT applications, functionalities and trading partners.

MME continues to control and own the data and information between all parties within the end-to-end supply chain in a way that benefits all parties thanks to higher transparency and better vehicle traceability. The technology was first successfully implemented for the New Generation ASX which will be assembled in Spain. The next implementation will be for the all-new Colt, which will be assembled in Turkey. More assembly plants and Vinturas modules may follow.

Private blockchain technology

“Thanks to their advanced private blockchain technology which was quickly and easily implemented, Vinturas offers us increased availability and accuracy of data,” comments Bas van Groenewoud, General Manager Vehicle Supply Chain Management at MME. “This enables us to make the right data-driven decisions at the right time, bringing greater transparency and accountability throughout our supply chain.”

Ronald Kleijwegt, CEO of the Dutch scale-up Vinturas, adds: “We see more and more original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and logistics service providers around the world with an interest in our unique interoperable network solution. Due to Vinturas, OEMs are not only in control of their entire value chain, data and information, but they can also save a significant amount of money, due to cost efficiencies and working capital reduction. Especially the latter is of great importance in these times of ongoing changes and disruptions.”

Increased transparency

Vinturas uses private blockchain technology to digitize the entire distribution process, from the supply of parts and components to final delivery to the customer. This creates more transparency for all trading partners. The parties involved share their data and information in a highly secure cloud environment, while retaining ownership of the relevant data and information. According to Vinturas, this interoperable supply chain solution demonstrates that significant cost savings can be achieved throughout the entire value chain.
