Cisco takes top spot in Gartner’s Supply Chain Top 25
Cisco Systems has secured the top position in this year’s edition of analyst firm’s Gartner annual Supply Chain Top 25 ranking. Colgate-Palmolive and Johnson & Johnson came in second and third place respectively, ahead of Schneider Electric (4) and Nestlé (5).
Cisco rose to the top spot based on sales growth, its strength in the three key factors (environmental, social and governance) when measuring sustainability, and the social impact of its business investments.
In the report, the researchers emphasized the network equipment company’s focus on the circular economy. Cisco’s goal is for 100% of its new products to include circular design principles by the company’s 2025 financial year.
Praise for top companies in the ranking
Mike Griswold, Vice-President Analyst at Gartner, praised all of the top companies in the ranking: “With substantial amounts of the economy closed due the COVID-19 pandemic, leaders need an agile strategy that allows the supply chain organization to sense and respond to changes in the business context as they happen. Our ranking highlights companies that possess these strategies and other differentiating capabilities.”
